Bad Children

I was up late last night until about 3am. I was woke up by a little girl who proclaimed "Mama! It's day time!" at around 8:30 this morning. Jack and I get up and do the morning routine. 3 diapers to change, medications and a tube feeding to start, I had to pump milk for the baby, and eggs for the rest of us. Around 1030 after I finished pumping a 2nd time, I felt a little naptine coming on. Jacob was just put up in his gait trainer, we locked the kitchen and chained the front door, we turned the house alarm on so the kids could not ex cape. The 2 walking children were playing nicely in the living room watching Disney Junior. All seemed content and a perfect time for a 45 minute nap. I set the alarm on my phone to get up in 45 minutes. The baby was with us and had already fallen asleep. About every 5 minutes after I played down Ava would come and yell "Mama! Andrew did --- and Andrew did ---" I was thinking they couldn't cause to much damage. About 20 minutes into the suppose to be nap time Ava chases Andrew into our bedroom and he has a big bottle of baby powder. I take it and hide it in the window seal...I also notice the hard white substance already painted on his back. I was think well it will still be there in 15 minutes lets take advantage of this nap time. Well, 5 minutes later Ava comes screaming "Andrew did it. He made a huge mess" I yell at them to get out. They are running up and down the hall and shaking the gait trying to get into the kitchen. I lay there and wait for the alarm. I get up and face the great unknown with Jack. We enter to a snowy wonderland in the living room. Powder from the dining room (baby cage area) changing table, under the changing table, all across the living room floor, under the couch, on the couch. EVERYWHERE. There is also tooth paste on all the Mickey mouse toys and on Andrew's back. Lesson of the day: Don't take nap time unless all children are properly caged, sedated, or duct taped to chairs. The pictures don't even give the justice of the baby powder film on everything. We made them clean it up all by themselves.

Last minute Achievement Academy had an opening for Andrew so instead of him starting ESE preschool at Ava's school he joined Jacob at his school....as you can tell they were thrilled. LOL

The boys started school 2 weeks before the rest of the public schools...so today, the day that the public school started he had his 1st wheel chair lift and bus ride 8/20/12..he slept through this too.

Andrew was and still is super excited about riding the bus. He did not even cry...not on his 1st bus ride or his 1st day of school.

Bye Mom! I'm a big boy now!

Not even a tear from this big girl. Mommy was sad I could not walk her to class...she has to be dropped off before the bus picks her brothers up, so they have to come along for the ride and the car rider line..blah NOT A FAN of the car rider line so far.

They all had great 1st day of school and so far really enjoy going. I am LOVING the peace and quiet and quality time with baby Hannah.

Andrew and Jacob's 3rd Birthday Party

Didn't have quite the extravagant party we usually do, but the boys enjoy their little party especially Mickey Mouse!

We had their party on their actual Birthday but it was late in the day after daddy came home from work. I ordered pizza for everyone. We had Aunt Fiki, Michael and Gavin come over. Also, Grandma and Grandpa Gunter came with Uncle Matt with loads of gifts. Andrew got the Dancing Mickey from us. Jacob got the Mickey Mouse DVD with the remote. The small mickey came from Jacob's speech therapist. Logan made his appearence in the picture since it was his Birthday too :-)

Jacob also got a new custom headrest for his seat2go. Made by his Great Aunt Sheila's work. I padded and covered it in the Mickey fabric. He loved eatting the frosting on the cake

Jacob got a new Special Tomato chair! He loves it and sits much better in it than his Tumble Form 2 chair.

Happy 3rd Birthday to My Triplets

Can't believe my boys are THREE YEARS OLD TODAY. The memories of their birth is still so fresh in my mind. It has been 2 Years 5 months and 5 days since Logan left this world. I feel guilty that I have not had the time or money to do something super special for him this year. I do plan on sending him up a Mickey Mouse Balloon on Friday when Jack is not working.

Both boys LOVE Mickey Mouse. The reason for their super awesome Jon Jons pictured above. I picked up their Mickey Mouse Cake last night. The Birthday plans will consist of Pizza, cake and ice cream with family tonight. Friday we will take Logan flowers and send up a balloon for him and then we will be headed to South Florida for the weekend to visit friends and get some beach time in.

Yesterday the boys aged out of Early Steps. Jacob's physical therapist has been with him since he was 7 months old. We have also developed a wonderful relationship with the boys Early Interventionist. She has been with us just over a year and the boys, especially Andrew, just love her. The boys speech therapist has been with them for just under a year. Monday was Jacob's last physical therapy...he slept through most of the visit and Tuesday was the last Speech and Early Intervention. The Speech therapist brought gifts. Jacob got a Mickey Mouse that talks and Andrew got a talking book and a Stuffed Tiger. It was so very sweet of her. Today is going to be full of joy and celebrating life and the lives all 3 boys have touched.

This is going to be a wonderful year for the boys. Andrew and Ava will both start at the Elementary school Andrew in ESE preschool and Ava in Kindergarten. I think Andrew will thrive there.

Jacob will start at a special charter school for special needs kids. He can stay in it until he is 7. I love that they will include in him in all activities not matter if he can do it on his own or not. He seen the surgeon's nurse practitioner yesterday for follow up regarding the nissen fundoplication he had on July 5th. His incision is healed and he was released to go back to his normal activities including full baths. His tone is wonderful since the Phenol and Botox he had on May 2nd. I am actually working on weening him off some of his meds in the hopes he will be more alert and awake when he starts school on August 6th! The other 2 start August 20th. I am working on taking him off the klonipine he gets at night and going from 3 tablets to 2 on his baclophen. Also when we follow up with GI he may not need his zantac anymore. At 3 he also gets his thyroid rechecked and when he sees endocrine MD he may get to come off the synthroid...still have to schedule that appointment. It will be great not to have to pump all these medications into him a day and of course his doctors know about these plans. Monday we will also work on putting him back on a blenderized diet.

This is going to be 1 very LONG post

The past month has been very busy for us. Going to try and go in order the events happened.

Ava's 5 year old check up....I made the mistake of telling her about the 3 shots she was going to get before the appointment. So, 1st she would not go into the office. Then once we got back there and she had to get undressed...the fit throwing started. She thought if she did not have to take her cloths off she would not get a shot. So, I had to force her to get undressed and put the gown on. I will let the following pictures speak for themselves.

Then why not get under the exam table and cry? This is where her doctor found her....

She was 43 1/2 inches which I believe was in the 69% and 54 pounds putting her in the 96%. We discussed her weight and eating habits and blood work was ordered. The blood work came back with her thyroid levels low and antibodies high...so she was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and started on Synthroid. She tested Andrew a few days later and he was fine. So now me, Jacob and Ava all take synthroid.

Last week I took Ava skating for the 1st time. We are trying to do things to be more active together.

The kids and I went to Groveland for the 4th of July. The fireworks were delayed and hour, but overall we had a great time. Andrew loved the loud noise and Hannah didn't seem to mind it. Jacob jumped and kept his eyes closed the entire time.

Jacob had his nissen fundoplication done on July 5th. Andrew and Ava stayed with my parents in a condo on the beach (they happened to be in Florida on vacation during his surgery) Hannah stayed with Jack and I at the hospital with Jacob. The 1st day was hard on that baby, but after that it was pretty smooth sailing. We left on the 5th day. He did not come home on any pain medication and only cries when he goes in to his dry heaving...which is once or twice a day. I know it has to hurt him when he does it. It has been wonderful not to have to clean vomit for a week!  He is on full feeds again and overall doing wonderful! I'm excited to see how he does in the coming months! We go next Tuesday for a followup with the surgeon.

Yesterday's events consisted of me taking Hannah for her 2 month old shots and check up and the office turning me away telling me Hannah was not on Jack's insurance...apparently someone in his business office forgot to click the button to make her active...so now I have to go back on Monday. I also had Andrew IEP meet for him to start ESE preschool this fall..yep that means all 3 bigger kids go to school next year! He barely qualified. He had to be "significantly delayed" in at least 1 area. which is a score under 70. He had a 67 in personal care which covers potty training, dressing himself and self feeding. Everything else he had an 80 or above which was considered normal. They said at any point the teach can request testing for him to leave the ESE program..so that mean when he learns how to potty train and eat (he is so stubborn) I will loose my free daily baby sitter..that sounds horrible! I really think he can benefit from being in a structured class environment and just to get out of the house!  YAY for me!!! I think it will be great for them. I will end my post with some random picture. :-) I can't believe the triplets will be 3 in just a few days!

THE NEST

I think this is the cutest thing ever. Ava just spent 30 minutes building herself a nest on my bed and then went to sleep in it. I love it! She built Hannah a nest the other day.

Happy 5th Birthday to my 1st born baby girl

My 1st baby turned 5 on June 6th. I finally get to write about it 11 days later. My sister and her son were in town. We had a pretty low key birthday. We went to her favorite restaurant Olive Garden. Then I took her to Toys R US  and she picked out a princess bike and a Kitty helmet. Over all we had a really good day. She is so spoiled. She kept asking me for more and more toys. I also bought her a baby doll with an infant carrier so she could be like mommy and baby sister.

Her Birthday party was on the 8th. We rented a 18ft water slide. The kids had a blast. She got a bunch more presents. Her Birthday cake was "Tangled" I think she likes the yellow hair "because it is like her hair" according to her. LOL She got several Tangled dolls, a toy pony, make up, cloths, and some other princess toys. Ava turning 5 cost me a small fortune between presents and party and she STILL asks me for new toys every day. LOL
